How it works

Three parts, working as one

Radio-based tracking built for the water — nothing to subscribe to.

The screen the crew watches — and what it does the moment a diver pulls the pin.

2

Base station

Boat-mounted antenna/receiver that picks up the eMarker signals — no internet or cell required.

3
eMarker

eMarker

Wearable transmitter clipped to each diver; broadcasts location by radio at the surface.

Why crews use it

The everyday win — and the critical save

BubbleWatcher earns its place on the boat every single dive, not just on the worst day.

Real-time surface tracking

Every diver on one screen the moment they surface — with distance and bearing from your boat.

Instant SOS alerts

A diver pulls the pin and every screen alarms, visual and audible — that diver's row lights up, with distance and bearing to them.

Geofence alerts

Set a geofence. A diver who surfaces outside it shows as Too Far — while it's still nothing.

Effortless diver accountability

The crew double-presses each eMarker as its diver comes aboard — the count keeps itself, with nobody recounting heads on a moving deck.

Keep the dive day on schedule

Dive times, recalls and check-ins in one place, so the crew can set up the next site instead of chasing a count.

No internet. No cell service.

Radio-based, with a typical 5nm range — it keeps working far offshore where phones and Wi‑Fi quit.

The app

See all the divers at a glance

Runs on any Android or iOS tablet or phone at the helm. The map shows every eMarker relative to the boat; the list ranks divers by who needs attention first.

  • eMarker map — surface position, distance and bearing from the boat.
  • Prioritized diver list — status, last seen, distance, bearing, battery.
  • SOS pull pin — instant visual and audible alert on the tablet.
  • Geofence alerts — know the moment your diver is too far.
  • Dive-time countdown & recall — keep the schedule without watching a clock.

Every eMarker is always in one of these states:

BubbleWatcher eMarker

The eMarker

Clips to a D-ring or shoulder strap. Pull the pin for SOS.

The critical save

One pull, and the whole boat knows

  • Every screen alarms — audible and visual, on every tablet and phone logged in.
  • That diver's row lights up — by name if the crew entered one, by eMarker if not.
  • Distance and bearing to them — the response starts with a course to steer, not a search.

From the water
“I know how difficult it is to find a coconut floating on the surface of the water. I can honestly say this product will save lives, time and money.”

About Squall Track

Built by people who've been in the water

BubbleWatcher started with a dive that could have gone wrong — and a conviction that crews deserve better than a headcount and hope.

Mike Murphy

Co-founder

Certified since 1972, Mike has spent decades diving remote corners of the world. Getting carried off by a current sent him looking for a safer way to be on and in the water. An MIT graduate, his background in technology and advances in radio are what let him build one.

Denise Lawrence

Co-founder & CEO

PADI instructor and USCG 100-ton captain since 2005, with hundreds of divers certified. She has worked Caribbean liveaboards since 2003 — 16 of those years as captain and naturalist guide — and told every guest the same thing pulling away from the dock: safety first. Squall Track is her full-time focus now, building technology she believes is life-saving and long overdue.
